Wine Country Weddings

Locations - Wine Country Weddings

Wine Country Weddings … is a phrase you hear a lot these days. Ten years ago however, a winery wedding was virtually unheard of. With the vast array of locations for weddings in wine country, we wanted to share three of our favorites with you. In 1996, the Wilson family acquired a twenty-acre winery. Wilson Creek Winery, famous for it’s Award Winning Almond Champagne, was the first winery to actively start the “Winery Wedding” trend. With their large, flower-laden gazebo, beautiful sunsets and vast country gardens, Wilson Creek was the ideal setting for weddings. Coupled with their immense selection of award-winning wines and great selection of caterers, they were well on their way to success. Along with expanding the property, they have since added two Pavilion tents. Wilson Creek Winery does over fifty weddings a year and by now definitely has the hang of it!

Wilson Creek is also a fun place to just visit for you or for your out of town guests. They have a wine club, a large gift shop, a sunset jazz in the vines concert series, and a private label designer!

Falkner Winery, which opened in July of 2000, is nestled atop a hill overlooking the valley and spans over twenty-four acres. The winery itself has a rustic feel and the views are surreal. Falkner Winery offers a custom designed package that includes rental needs, on-site coordination, food and beverages. They also provide a Bride’s dressing room and use of the grounds. In September of this year, Falkner introduced their new palatial reception facility. The new facility offers a “European feel with an exterior of stucco, stone, columns, and beautiful wood engraved entry doors. The indoor reception site is designed with over 80 feet of circular, ten feet high windows facing the mountains, vineyards and sunsets. The glass walls have doors that open to an outdoor attached balcony for guests to enjoy the fragrant wine country air.”

This will be a great addition to the already popular Falkner Winery and will offer a “cool” alternative to the outdoor wedding and reception. Falkner is now the only winery that can accommodate 175 guests indoors and still have a view! Falkner Winery also has a large gift shop and offers free jazz concerts on Sundays.

Opening in the summer of 2006, Oak Meadows is the newest wedding facility in Wine Country. Unlike our other favorite locations, Oak Meadows is not a winery. It is however, magnificent! With it’s large lake complete with five fountains encircled with fire rings; a dance floor with fireplace; a beautiful patio with tables, chairs and fire pits; and the wonderful stone work and gardens - this new facility is a must see! They can accommodate up to 500 guests and unlike the wineries is a private facility so they do not have the constraints of being open to the public. Oak Meadows has various packages to fit all needs.
